Cristiano Ronaldo wins Goal 50 Award | July 28, 2014

Ronaldo tops the list of the world’s top 50 players, who were selected by more than 600 Goal journalists. This is the third time in his career he’s won the Goal 50 award.

"It’s a very big honour for me to have been chosen as the best player. Our club, our technical staff, my amazing team-mates and I are going to do everything we can to make our magnificent fans happy."

“I’m sincerely grateful for this award. I also want to thank the fans for their support and for their passion for the game, which is what makes this sport so fascinating throughout the world.”

“Over and above individual prizes, I have always maintained that it’s the team, your team-mates and the fans that make each of us better as footballers. Therefore, I’m convinced that I wouldn’t have been able to win this award without the constant support form all the people at Real Madrid.”

Also making the list:

{26} Gareth Bale

{16} Toni Kroos

{13} Ángel di María

{10} Sergio Ramos

{6} James Rodríguez

"You either have charisma or you don’t, and he does.  You can’t work on this or achieve it and that’s what allows you to win the respect and admiration of everyone.  In terms of football, he has a gift of always appearing in opportune moments, when the team needs him the most. He has a magic touch.  He makes saves that make a difference and win titles.”
